Anatoly Gunko received a “reward” for resolving the issue of leasing state lands to an entrepreneur, sources say.
Law enforcement officers exposed Anatoly Gunko, a people’s deputy from the Servant of the People party, on receiving a bribe. This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies on Tuesday, August 8.
“Together with two accomplices, Gunko received a “reward” to resolve the issue of leasing state lands to the entrepreneur. He allegedly already received the first tranche of $85,000,” the message says.
In turn, the SBU informs that, together with NABU, they exposed a people’s deputy who “sold” land to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences for $85,000.
“For the money, the official promised the businessman to ensure that state land plots of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine were provided for cultivation,” the message says.
Law enforcement officers documented the criminal activities of the people’s deputy and exposed him in the course of receiving 85 thousand dollars.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under the article on the acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official (part 4 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of reporting suspicion to the deputy and his two accomplices is being resolved. Attackers face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
