The situation with the subsidence of the soil near the “Demiivska” metro station in Kyiv has been stabilized and is under the supervision of specialists.

This was reported by the head of the “Kyiv Metropoliten” KP Viktor Braginskyi, the KMDA press service reports.

“From the moment traffic stopped on this section, the subsidence of the soil from the outside actually stopped. I would also like to add that the subsidence of the soil was formed when a significant removal of sand in the distillation tunnel began. Currently, there is no rock drift, tunnel leakage, or soil subsidence. The situation is stabilized and under control, and is also under the constant supervision of specialists,” the official said.

KMDA again emphasized that the subsidence of the soil occurred even before the closure of six stations of the “blue” branch.

Also, the other day, next to the place of subsidence, the energy supply company laid cable networks with the use of appropriate construction equipment.

“The works are not related to the situation that arose on the line between Demiivska and Lybidska stations and are still ongoing,” the capital administration added.

On December 17, soil subsidence was discovered near the Demiivska metro station. Permanent surveillance was established for the area where subsidence was noticed.
