The Pechersk Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, who was charged with treason the day before: 60 days in custody without bail.
The meeting was held in closed session.
Dubinsky’s defense announced the recusal of the judge, as he did not have time to get acquainted with the case materials, and requested the postponement of the hearing to November 14.
The court instead rejected the motion.
On November 13, the SBU and SBU searched Dubinsky, later accusing him and four other people of treason committed by the organization. According to the investigation, the group was engaged in discrediting Ukraine in the international arena and received money from the Russian GRU. Dubinsky was part of its team and had the call sign “Pinocchio”.
The People’s Deputy stated that the suspicion of treason is “completely fabricated” and is “based on the absolute lies of high-ranking state officials.”
- On November 1, law enforcement officers again came to the People’s Deputy with searches to check his possible involvement in the organization of illegal transportation of people across the state border in collusion with other persons. On the same day, Dubinsky accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of “political persecution.”
- On November 3, a new suspicion was announced against Dubinsky. According to the investigation, the deputy succeeded in illegally transporting his common-law wife’s brother to a neighboring European country.
- On November 6, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the People’s Deputy in the form of 24-hour house arrest with the wearing of an electronic bracelet.
