The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Thursday, October 7, 284 votes supported the initiative of the Servant of the People faction to recall Dmitry Razumkov from the post of speaker of parliament.
The decision to withdraw Razumkov was explained by the head of the Servant of the People party, Alexander Kornienko.
“Political experience plays in different directions: sometimes it helps to work, and sometimes it increases various manifestations that can be called political slyness,” he explained the idea of Razumkov’s resignation.
Kornienko stressed that at the moment the Servant of the People “has no confidence” in him.
“Dmitry Alexandrovich has deviated from general principles and is no longer a member of our party and cannot represent our team in such a high position. The party and voters have many questions for the work of the chairman of parliament. Most of them are rhetorical, but I am sure, Dmitry Alexandrovich, that you, in your manner, are filigree in form, but not the fact that you are full of content, you will answer them. So let’s start, ”he said.
Razumkov himself also spoke from the rostrum. He recalled the promises of the team of President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Servant of the People, who went to the polls with “good sincere principles that people believed. Not for positions and money, but to change the country for the better. ”
“It was blind faith that we will succeed. Because we are new honest, correct, fair, different. Because we are not like them. Unfortunately, today in this hall I see different eyes. They have changed a lot. All this time I tried to make at least part of these promises come true … If we return to principles, then the principle of democracy, to which we were going, became the principle of majority rule, the principle of the rule of law and law changed to political expediency, the principle of law to his own position and freedom of speech he changed the principle “who is not with us is against us”, the principle “one law for all” became the principle “friends – everything, enemies – the law. And the principle, offshore is a shame for the authorities, it has become the principle “it’s okay for every private entrepreneur. My principles have not changed, my values are the same as they were, ”he said.
Then the Rada began the process of appointing a new head of parliament.
As the People’s Deputy Yevhenia Kravchuk said before the meeting, today they can vote for the appointment of the chairman of the Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, and for the first vice-speaker – Alexander Kornienko.
