On January 17, the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council was held at the level of commanders of the armed forces, but the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny did not take part in it.

Ukraine was represented at this meeting by Major General Serhiy Salkutsan, although earlier it was planned that General Valery Zaluzhnyi would join foreign colleagues in Brussels in the format of a video conference.

At that time, Zaluzhnyi took part in the campaign of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
