The family of Kharkiv ex-mayor Gennady Kernes – common-law wife Oksana Gaisinskaya and her son Rodion – own real estate worth 1.3 billion hryvnia. At the same time, Kernes himself did not declare any real estate in his ownership.
From the last declaration filed by Kernes, it followed that he rented a 7-meter room and a room in the Kharkiv National Hotel of 57 square meters.
Slidstvi.info notes that Kernes’s stepson Rodion is the owner or co-owner of about thirty companies. Basically, these firms own land and retail space in the Kharkiv markets (most of all in the markets “Central” and “Horse”). It is about 25 hectares of land and 42,600 square meters of retail space. The entire business on Rodion was re-registered in 2018-2020.
According to Slidstva.info, the land and retail space owned by Rodion Gaisinsky could cost about UAH 850 million.
Oksana Gaisinskaya, who more than five years ago did not own practically any companies, now through more than ten companies owns shopping and entertainment centers, historical buildings, cafes and restaurants in the center of Kharkov. In particular, Oksana Gaisinskaya owns the Fairy House shopping and entertainment complex with an area of more than 2 thousand square meters on the territory of the Maxim Gorky Park.
Gaysinskaya commercial real estate is estimated at about 430 million hryvnia.
It is reported that the calculations used the data of the “Kharkov Investment Real Estate Agency” on the average cost of 1 square meter of office space and information from the website of the consulting company SV-Development on the average price per one hundred square meters of land in the Kharkov region.
Journalists note that Oksana Gaisinskaya and her son also received 75% of the shares of Kharkiv Channel 7.
Gennady Kernes died on December 17, 2020. Since 2010, he has been the mayor of Kharkov.
