People’s deputy Maryana Bezugla reported that she had written a statement to withdraw from the Servant of the People faction and party.
Direct speech: “I wrote a statement to leave the Servant of the People faction and party.”
“I don’t need a weak faction and a party at war. I will continue to support the President’s initiatives, but I do not want to have joint obligations with the people’s deputies of the faction, who stick a knife in the back.”
Bezugla also added that she “does not need the quota of the deputy chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense and Intelligence” under the conditions allegedly imposed on her.
At the same time, she said that she “supports the president” and remains “the majority deputy of the Obolon district with all the obligations of openness and working with citizens.”
At the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on January 10, people’s deputies were unable to include in the agenda of the parliament session the issue of the dismissal of Maryana Bezugla from the post of deputy head of the committee on national security and defense.
On January 5, the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommended the removal of People’s Deputy Maryana Bezugla from the position of deputy head of the committee.
During the year, Bezugla made several loud statements about the military and the conduct of hostilities. In particular, she stated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhnyi did not provide a plan for the next year, so the military leadership of Ukraine should leave.
