The invader is now directing his main efforts to holding the occupied lines. An attempt by Russian troops to capture Mariupol was unsuccessful.

On the twentieth day of the Russian invasion, the groupings of the occupying troops did not have significant success in all directions. On Tuesday, March 15, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the situation on the fronts.

It is noted that the state, position and nature of defense actions today are without significant changes. The troops of the Russian Federation continue to focus their main efforts on holding occupied lines.

Over the past day, Ukrainian air defense shot down four enemy helicopters, one plane, and a Ukrainian fighter shot down an enemy cruise missile.

In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones, no signs of preparation for a naval landing operation were found.

According to available information, due to problems in settlements in the temporarily occupied territories of ORDLO, the invaders were forced to suspend the mobilization of public utilities workers, the General Staff said.

“The moral and psychological state of the enemy remains at a low level, which leads to refusals by the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to carry out the orders of the command. Also, according to available information, mobilized residents from the temporarily occupied territory of certain districts of the Luhansk region are sent to replenish the losses of the active units of the Russian occupation forces involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine,” the message says.

When the Russian troops tried to capture Mariupol, the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks, inflicting the following losses on the invaders: about 150 people, two tanks, seven infantry fighting vehicles and one armored personnel carrier. After that, the enemy stopped offensive operations and retreated.

In addition, artillery and aircraft hit the accumulation of military equipment and columns of the enemy on the advance routes.
