The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of the evening of Tuesday, October 24.
“There were 54 combat clashes during the day. In total, the enemy launched 5 rocket and 33 air strikes, launched 42 attacks from rocket salvo fire systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged,” the General Staff said in a statement.
It is reported that the operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
In particular, in the Kupyan direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation in the Sinkivka and Ivanivka districts of the Kharkiv region. Here, the Defense Forces repelled eight Russian attacks.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled all enemy attacks near Nadia and Makiivka of the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, five attacks by Russian troops were repelled in the areas of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka settlements of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiyivsk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Stepovoy, Avdiivka, Severnoy, and Nevelsky, Donetsk region. Defense forces repelled six enemy attacks there.
In the Mariinsky direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults with the support of aviation in the Maryinka and Pobeda districts of the Donetsk region, about 20 enemy attacks were repulsed there.
In the direction of Shakhtar, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults with the support of aviation in the Staromayorsky district. Ukrainian soldiers repelled all enemy attacks in Novomykhailivka, Prechistivka, south of Zolota Niva, Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled the Russian attack southeast of Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.
During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 13 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy and 3 strikes on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems. Units of the missile forces destroyed 12 artillery pieces and the enemy’s logistics hub.
