The International Monetary Fund team, led by Deputy Director of the IMF’s European Department Uma Ramakrishnan, arrived in Kyiv today, October 1, and is beginning a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and other key partners. This was announced by the IMF permanent representative in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan.

“The high-level dialogue will focus on promising activities and challenges in the context of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) implemented by Ukraine with the support of the IMF,” Stepanyan noted.

The IMF mission began work in Warsaw on September 25 to prepare the second revision of the EFF extended financing program. If it is successful, Ukraine expects to receive the third tranche of the loan in the amount of about $900 million by the end of the year.
