The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for oligarch Igor Kolomoisky in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of making a bail in the amount of almost 510 million hryvnias.

The request of the BEB detective to apply a measure of restraint to Kolomoisky in the form of detention was partially granted.

He was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days – until October 31 inclusive. The judge decided to take him into custody in the courtroom.

At the same time, the amount of the bail is defined as 190,000 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, or UAH 509,960,000.

After the announcement of the decision, the prosecutor declined to comment. Kolomoisky himself did not say a word.

Kolomoisky’s lawyer Oleksandr Lysak, in a commentary to the UP, said that lawyers would appeal against the decision to impose a preventive measure.

“We are not currently considering the issue of bail. We will wait for the full decision of the court. And, of course, we will appeal,” he said.

On Saturday, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security and the Office of the Prosecutor General handed oligarch Igor Kolomoisky a suspicion under Articles 190 and 209 of the Criminal Code: fraud and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means.

The prosecutors were going to apply for detention with an alternative bail, tentative to the amount of damage.

The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv elected Kolomoisky a measure of restraint in a closed regime at the request of the oligarch’s lawyer. However, journalists were allowed to announce the decision.
