On August 13, Ukrainian troops conducted counter-offensive operations in at least two sectors of the front and moved forward in the west of the Donetsk-East Zaporozhye region and in the western part of the Zaporozhye region, according to a daily report from the Institute for the Study of War.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces carried out offensive operations in the Berdyansk and Melitopol directions and achieved partial success in the Robotino region (western part of the Zaporozhye region, 13 km south of Orekhov).
It is noted that several Russian sources claimed on August 12 that Russian troops withdrew from Urozhayne (on the border of Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions). However, on August 13, many Russian sources denied these claims. Instead, they said that Russian troops were still occupying the southern part of Urozhayne.
ISW cannot confirm that the Russian occupiers have completely withdrawn from Urozhayne.
“Russian troops are probably still holding positions in at least the southern part of the settlement,” the institute’s analysts said.
