Ukraine has agreed with Poland on the resumption of food transit through the country. This was announced on Tuesday, April 18, by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

“As a result of the negotiations, it was decided that the transit of Ukrainian agricultural goods through the territory of Poland will be unblocked on the night of Thursday April 21 to Friday April 22 this year,” said Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

According to her, now the government is waiting for official communication from the Polish side on the technical aspects of transporting Ukrainian products through Poland.

As Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus noted, Poland has managed to develop mechanisms so that grain does not remain in the country during transit. He specified that a special monitoring system would be introduced for this.

“Transportation of Ukrainian grain through Poland will be sealed with electronic seals with GPS,” the minister said.

Earlier it was reported that Poland, Slovakia and Hungary banned the import of Ukrainian grain and some agricultural products from Ukraine.
