At a meeting on April 10, Parliament returned an additional payment of UAH 30,000 to the military. People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko announced this.

Bill No. 8312 was supported by 277 people’s deputies.

According to the people’s deputy, additional payments were also returned to the employees of the State Emergency Service and the police.

Surcharges will remain in effect until the end of the martial law period.

At the same time, a member of the Golos faction, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, specified that the allowance for the military is returned by “saving on salary cuts for civil servants and management of state enterprises (up to 10 minimum wages)”.

“And the main thing here is that in order for the return of allowances to work, it is most likely that the budget needs to be changed. The cap on salaries to 10 minsalary is a very small savings. Even 2% of the planned expenses will not be enough. Let me remind you that we spent UAH 2.7 billion a day on payments to the military. Therefore, I would not yet so unequivocally assert that they returned it. So far, it will be correct: “the monetary allowance of employees, employees and officials of budgetary institutions / SOEs was limited to ten times the minimum wage,” the people’s deputy explained.
