The Cabinet of Ministers approved a document that will allow Ukraine to conclude an agreement on joining the “roaming visa-free” with the European Union this year. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“We are moving towards “roaming visa-free” with the EU. Today, April 7, we approved a document that will allow Ukraine to conclude an appropriate agreement with the European Union this year,” he wrote.

According to the prime minister, joining the roaming space of the European Union is not just the abolition of call charges, but also modern and transparent European rules in the field of telecommunications.

First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko noted that this decision will create conditions for Ukraine to acquire an internal market regime in the field of roaming. This area will be a “pilot” for the full legal integration of Ukraine into intra-European regulation.

The Cabinet of Ministers is implementing the updated priority action plan agreed by the Ministry of Economy and the European Commission to strengthen the implementation of the free trade agreement. The main focus of this plan is the integration of Ukraine into the EU internal market.
