President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented Chernihiv with the badge of the Hero City.
“I have the honor today to celebrate the struggle of the city of Chernihiv, in general, the heroism of the region. And give Chernigov the sign of the Hero City, the city of heroes,” he said.
According to him, a year ago, the successes of our people in the battles for Chernihiv, Sumy, Kiev regions revealed the truth to the world.
“The truth about what Ukraine is like. The world saw not only the courage and determination of Ukrainians, not only indestructible Ukrainians and Ukrainians. The world has seen that Ukraine is capable of emerging victorious from this war — the war for Ukraine,” the President said.
He also added that it was a fundamental change in attitude towards our state, towards all Ukrainians.
“It was here that the faith of the world in Ukraine was confirmed. Confirmed by the actions of our soldiers and the flight of the occupier. Thanks to everyone who brings us closer to victory. Glory to everyone who is now fighting for Ukraine!” Zelensky summed up.
