Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny noted that Ukrainian defenders need Western F-16 fighter planes.

Zaluzhny posted a video in which the Ukrainian military tells how the military aviation of Ukraine has provided resistance, unexpected for the Russians, since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

One of the pilots says that the most difficult thing is not the ability to pilot, but the ability to use the aircraft in a real battle.

Ukraine has long been asking Western partners, in particular the United States, for F-16 fighters. The Joe Biden administration refuses to do so, saying that Ukraine does not need these planes now. The US Congress called sending the F-16 “not a very wise use of resources.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly said that Ukraine needs Western fighter jets. In particular, after the attack of the Russians with drones on the night of February 27, he explained that modern combat aircraft would help protect the sky of Ukraine as a component of air defense.

The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that Ukraine urgently needs generation 4+ multirole fighters, and preparations need to start now.
