Hasidim have been coming to Uman since March 22 to celebrate the birthday of Rabbi Nachman. This was reported by the police of the Cherkasy region.
In connection with the arrival of pilgrims, a consolidated detachment is working in the city, formed from employees of various services, in particular: the dialogue police, soldiers of the special police battalion, cynologists, explosive technicians and police officers of the Uman district police department.
Among the main tasks of law enforcement officers are the prevention of offenses and ensuring public order.
In addition, the police stressed that all the restrictions related to the martial law in force on the territory of Ukraine apply to guests of the city. Among them are document checks at checkpoints and a curfew in effect from 05:00 to 23:00.
