Ukraine sold the Belgorod-Dniester port

Ukraine has sold the commercial sea port of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky in the Odessa region for UAH 220 million. This was announced by the State Property Fund on Monday, March 13.

“The record value of the asset – for the Belgorod-Dniester port, they offered the highest final rate since the resumption of privatization,” the report says.

It is indicated that three entrepreneurs competed for this port on the Prozorro platform. During the auction, the price increased by 2.3 times. Also, the new owner must pay about UAH 150 million of debt.

The State Property Fund believes that attracting a private investor for the Belgorod-Dniester port is an impetus for developing infrastructure and creating jobs. In 2019-2021, the port was unprofitable – in the range of UAH 23.5-28.5 million annually.
