Despite the next attacks on the Ukrainian energy system, the country has begun the second sowing season during the war, the first 16,000 hectares of grain and legumes have already been sown.

Summing up the results of the week, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Facebook.

“We have already begun the second sowing campaign during the war. The first 16,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been sown,” Shmygal said.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine and Poland have also simplified the border crossing for agricultural products and are working to expand the grain initiative and port facilities on the Danube.

The government has also allocated UAH 5 million from the state budget reserve fund to a pilot project to restore energy infrastructure in line with wartime security standards, the concrete results of which are expected in the near future.

In addition, the government allocated an additional subsidy in the amount of UAH 10.2 billion to support the regions most affected by Russian aggression and decided to intensify the construction of new military engineering fortifications in certain areas.

Shmyhal also emphasized the work on a new program with the IMF, in order to quickly reach agreement on all parameters. The total size of the program is expected to exceed $15 billion, which, with the support of the US, EU and G7 countries, will fully finance the budget deficit this year.
