The troops of the Russian Federation continue to advance in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Miner directions in the areas of Nevsky, Bakhmut, Novobakhmutovka, Vodyany and Maryinka. This was announced on February 21 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report.
Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the invaders in the areas of settlements: Gryanikovka and Masyutovka in the Kharkiv region; Belogorivka in the Luhansk region; Vasiukovka, Berkhovka, Bakhmut, Vasilievka, Novobakhmutovka, Vodiane, Nevelskoe and Maryinka in the Donetsk region.
In the Volyn, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were found. Residents of the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkov regions were subjected to shelling.
On the Kupyansky and Limansky directions, the enemy shelled 13 cities and villages, on Bakhmutsky – 20, on Avdeevsky and Miner – more than 30, on Zaporozhye – more than 25, on Kherson – over 35.
In total, during the day, the enemy launched six missile and 28 air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. In addition, he made 86 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.
“As a result of the fire of the Russian invaders, civilian residential buildings, schools and shops were destroyed and damaged. There are dead and wounded. The threat of further Russian air and missile strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high,” the General Staff stressed.
During the day on February 20, Ukrainian aviation inflicted 16 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers, as well as on an anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position. Three Lancet drones shot down.
The rocket and artillery units hit two enemy air defense positions and a battery of multiple launch rocket systems.
