Judge Vera Mikhailenko became the new head of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, the corresponding decision was made at the general meeting of judges on February 14.

The previous few attempts were unsuccessful – and finally VAKS received a full-fledged head of the court.

From May 7, 2019 to May 6, 2022, Elena Tanasevich was the head of the VAKS. Since May 7, 2022, the powers of the head of the High Anti-Corruption Court have been performed by Oleg Pavlyshyn, who has the longest judicial experience.

On May 18, 2022, Judge Alexander Semennikov was elected head of the VAKS Appeals Chamber. He replaced Daniila Chernenkaya in this position.

In the fall of 2020, the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice held Vera Mikhailenko, an investigating judge of the High Council of Justice, liable and issued a warning to her. In fact, the judge was punished for allowing an investigation in absentia into the controversial former Yanukovych-Azarov-era minister Mykola Zlochevsky, who fled Ukraine in 2014.
