The troops of the Russian Federation, trying to take full control of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, continue to conduct an offensive in five directions in the areas of Kremennaya, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Opytny, Maryinka and Vugledar. This was announced on February 9 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report.
It is noted that the enemy concentrated the main efforts on the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Novopavlovsky directions. Actively uses operational-tactical and army aviation to strike at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces repelled attacks by invaders in the areas of 19 settlements: Stelmakhovka, Belogorovka in the Luhansk region; Vyemka, Fedorovka, Bakhmut, Krasnaya Gora, Paraskoveevka, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Novokalinovo, Vodyanoye, Pervomayskoye, Vesele, Krasnogorovka, Avdeevka, Maryinka, Bogoyavlenka, Prechistovka in the Donetsk region; Novoandreevka in Zaporozhye region.
In the Volyn, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were found. The areas of more than 40 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions were subjected to shelling. There are dead and wounded, and a large number of residential buildings have been damaged.
In the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Novopavlovsky, Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, the Russian army actively shelled peaceful cities and villages from various types of weapons.
“In the village of Kokhan, Vasilyevsky district, Zaporozhye region, the Russian occupation troops are massively engaged in looting,” the General Staff emphasized.
In total, during the day, the Russian army launched three missile and 45 air strikes, as a result of which three civilians were killed, three more are in serious condition. In addition, the enemy carried out 67 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, in particular, on civilian infrastructure in the Kherson region.
The threat of further Russian strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
During the day on February 8, Ukrainian aviation inflicted 21 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers and three strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.
Artillerymen and missilemen hit two enemy command posts, three manpower concentration areas, three positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, two ammunition depots and a fuel and lubricants depot.
