Despite the so-called “ceasefire” declared by the Russian occupiers, over the past day, on January 7, the enemy launched nine missile and three air strikes and made 40 shelling from multiple launch rocket systems. In particular, in terms of civilian infrastructure, there are wounded and dead among the civilian population. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report on January 8.
The threat of air and missile strikes remains throughout Ukraine. Therefore, Ukrainians are urged not to ignore air raid signals.
Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the invaders in the areas of 16 settlements. Among them are Stelmakhivka, Makeevka and Belogorovka in the Luhansk region and Razdolevka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Zheleznoye, Pervomayskoye, Vodyanoye and Pobeda in the Donetsk region.
Having suffered heavy losses, the enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Avdeevsky and Limansky directions and is trying to improve the tactical situation in the Kupyansky. In the Novopavlovsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, the invaders are on the defensive.
In the Volyn and Polesye directions, the situation has not changed significantly, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, signs of the formation of his offensive groupings have not been identified.
In the Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, the areas of the settlements of Staritsa and Dvorechnaya of the Kharkov region were subjected to shelling. The enemy also used a shock UAV near Aleksandrovka.
In the Kupyansky and Limansky directions, the areas of Ivanovka, Stelmakhivka, Myasozharovka, Ploshchanka, Makeevka, Nevsky, Chervonopopovka and Dibrova of the Lugansk region were shelled from artillery.
In the Bakhmut direction, Berestovo, Belogorovka, Veseloye, Krasnaya Gora, Bakhmut, Kleschievka, Belaya Gora, Dilievka, Zheleznoye and New York of the Donetsk region fell under enemy fire.
Nevelskoye, Maryinka and Novomikhailovka of Donetsk region were shelled in the Avdiivka direction.
Bolshaya Novoselka, Zolotaya Niva and Vuhledar of the Donetsk region were under fire in the Novopavlovsk direction.
In the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery at the areas of Antonovka, Charivnoye, Dorozhnyanka, Inzhenernoye, Belogorye, Alekseevka, Maly Shcherbakov, Stepne and Kamensky Zaporizhzhia region.
Aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces over the past 24 hours carried out strikes on 21 enemy concentration areas, as well as three strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems.
At the same time, three reconnaissance UAVs of the occupants of the Orlan-10 type were shot down.
Our rocket and artillery subunits hit a command post, five areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, and two enemy ammunition depots.
