Tariffs for water will increase from January 1

Tariffs for water and sewerage will change in Ukraine from January 1. The corresponding decision was made on December 27 by the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities, according to the agency’s website.

NEURC substantiates the new tariffs with the calculations of the water utilities themselves, which submit to the regulators the structure of the cost of their services.

According to the regulator, from January 1, 2023, tariffs for water supply and drainage will increase by an average of 10%. This means that for each region of Ukraine, the figures in the payments will be different, since the previous tariffs were also not uniform.

Initially, NEURC wanted to approve two increases in water tariffs at once – from January 1 and July 1. However, the decision to raise water tariffs in the summer was postponed. It will be considered in May 2023.
