The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue a successful counter-offensive, now for the good news from the East, Ukraine has received news about the successes of the army in the South.

During an evening video message, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are successfully advancing in Kherson, Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

“The Ukrainian army is carrying out a fairly fast and powerful movement in the south of our country as part of the current defense operation. Dozens of settlements have already been liberated from the Russian pseudo-referendum this week alone,” he said.

Only in the Kherson region was liberated from the invaders:

– Lyubimovka;

– Baptism;

– Zolotaya Balka;

– Belyaevka;

– Ukrainian;

– Bolshaya and Malaya Aleksandrovka;

— Davydov Brod.

“And this is far from a complete list. Our warriors don’t stop. And it’s only a matter of time before we drive out the occupier from all our land,” he said.

There is a widespread belief among Russian war correspondents that the target of the Ukrainian offensive in the north of the Kherson region is the city of Berislav on the banks of the Dnieper. This small town is located just 10 kilometers from Novaya Kakhovka, but it is almost 50 kilometers from Dudchan, which the Ukrainian military has already taken.

If this plan can be realized, then, firstly, it will greatly complicate the position of the Russian troops in Kherson. If the offensive from Davydov Brod succeeds, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine will thus cut the Kherson grouping of the Russian Federation in two.

However, in addition to operational-tactical goals, the Armed Forces of Ukraine may also have a strategic one. The fact is that the North Crimean Canal originates in New Kakhovka. One of the results of the rapid offensive of the Russian army in February 2022 was the capture of Novaya Kakhovka and the release of water into the Crimea.

This canal was closed after the annexation of the peninsula in 2014, and the release of water was an important economic and political event for Russia. If Ukraine can block it again, then this will be another important and significant event in the course of the war.

CIA chief Bill Burns believes Russian dictator Vladimir Putin could be “pretty dangerous and reckless” because of Russia’s growing problems in Ukraine and the world, CNN reports.

According to the head of the CIA, Putin may be concerned not only about what is happening on the battlefield in Ukraine, but also about what is happening in Russia and in the world. He recalled that despite China’s February pledge of “boundless friendship,” Beijing refused to offer the military support Putin had asked for and “restrained its enthusiasm for Russia’s waging war.”
