On Tuesday, August 16, explosions were heard again in the occupied Crimea: in the morning, an ammunition depot exploded near the village of Azovskoye in the Dzhankoy district, a fire broke out at the transformer station in Dzhankoy itself, and explosions also thundered at the airbase in the Simferopol district.

Refat Chubarov, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, was the first to report and confirm the information about the explosions in the village of Azov (until 1944, Kalay / Qalay). According to him, we are talking about “an exact hit on the military unit of the orcs.”

In addition, Russian publics report a fire at a transformer station in Dzhankoy itself.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation first reported that the cause of the explosions in the Dzhankoy region was “a fire on the territory of the site for the temporary storage of ammunition of one of the military units,” and later announced a “sabotage.” In the Stratcom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted “violation of the rules of smoking in an unspecified place.”

This is the second incident in Crimea over the past 8 days: on August 9, the occupied peninsula was gripped by panic after a series of explosions at the Saki military airfield near the resort village of Novofedorovka. Then the occupying “authorities” of Crimea called the cause of the explosions “the detonation of several aviation munitions”, fearing to recognize the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a target on the peninsula.
