In Odessa, for the period of martial law, all beaches will be closed to the public. The reason is the threat to the life of vacationers due to drifting enemy mines that are washed ashore from the Black Sea. This was announced on July 5 by the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Maxim Marchenko.

He stressed that “due to non-compliance with security measures and ignoring the requirements of the administration, people on the beaches are dying from enemy mines thrown ashore.”

“Our main task is to preserve the life and health of the inhabitants of the region. Therefore, together with the city council, it was decided not to open the beaches. I ask you to treat this requirement with understanding,” Marchenko said.
