22 million tons of grain are blocked in Ukrainian ports. Ukraine is negotiating with the UN and Turkey to create opportunities for grain exports. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a briefing with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson in Kyiv.

According to Zelensky, the implementation of the export process will not be easy, but possible.

“We are interested in our farmers continuing to work for the next year and the next harvest. To do this, we need to export all this – barley, wheat, corn. 22 million tons are now blocked. We expect about 60 million tons in autumn. There will be a really very difficult situation there,” the President noted.

He said that at the diplomatic level, work is underway to ensure that states do not buy grain from the Russian Federation, which it stole in blockaded Ukrainian ports.

Negotiations are also ongoing with Turkey and the United Nations.

“It is very important for someone to ensure the safety of the ships of certain states, except for Russia, which we do not trust, those ships that will come to us to load products. This is what is being discussed in Turkey,” Zelensky said.

According to him, Ukraine is working on various ways to export grain, both by rail and by river. And despite the difficult conditions, grain exports are increasing every day.

Recall that in the 2021/2022 marketing year (July-June), Ukraine exported 48.51 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, which is 8.4% more than a year earlier.
