People’s deputies supported the Decree on the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the commission of genocide by the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Thursday, April 14, recognized the Russian war as genocide against Ukraine. The deputies voted for the Resolution on the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the commission of genocide by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. This was announced by the People’s Deputy of the Servant of the People faction Olena Shulyak.

She noted that the Russian military does not kill people because they are enemies. Not because of their ethnic origin or language of communication, but because they are citizens of Ukraine.

“Today we officially recognized that Russia is committing genocide against Ukrainians right now. We call on the world to also recognize the crimes in Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin, Kharkov and Mariupol as real genocide. Otherwise, Putin’s flock will not stop and will want to repeat these bloodthirsty crimes on the streets of European cities and towns,” Shulyak wrote.
