“One political force just staged some kind of hysteria over the registration of the Russian vaccine. I can say right away: you can be hysterical for a very long time, no one will register the Russian vaccine in the country,” Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said at a briefing on January 29.

Stepanov accused another political force of trying to spoil the country’s image by statements that the chances of a timely start of vaccination of Ukrainians are illusory.

The minister assured that vaccination, as announced by the government earlier, will begin in February.

  • According to Vladimir Putin, the level of protection provided by the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine reaches 97%. Moreover, the president of Russia himself was never vaccinated with it.
  • In Russia, at the end of December, a campaign began to vaccinate the population against Covid-19 with the Sputnik V drug, which has not yet passed the required stage of clinical trials.
  • The Russians, who were among the first to decide to be vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, complained about the side effects from it.
  • Sputnik V has already been registered as a vaccine in Palestine, Belarus, Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Serbia, Argentina and Algeria.
