The US Department of Justice intends to confiscate an office building in Cleveland, Ohio, which belongs to Ukrainian businessmen Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov, however, according to the department, it was acquired with funds illegally withdrawn from PrivatBank. This was announced on Wednesday, December 30, by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

The 22-storey office center was acquired by the two former largest shareholders of Privat and a number of others in 2008. At the same time, funds for its purchase were obtained fraudulently.

The agency has filed a lawsuit in the federal court of the Southern District of Florida – the state in which the firms involved in the purchase / sale of the said property are based.

This is the third building of Igor Kolomoisky in the United States, the confiscation of which is sought by the American authorities.

In August, the US Department of Justice sent two civil complaints about the confiscation of Kolomoisky’s commercial real estate, acquired with misappropriated funds from PrivatBank, for trial.
